The project ?Nourishing the City, Protecting Rights: the R2C (Right to the City) in the Face of Overlapping Inequalities? contributes to a more dignified life in our cities, including for women, by ensuring basic rights and promoting a fairer food system in Barcelona and the Global South (Overall Objective). Through its two Specific Objectives, the project promotes the guarantee of the right to the city and food sovereignty from a gender perspective in Barcelona and globally, by working together with various organisations and international networks that also bring a decolonial perspective to the project. To achieve this, the project includes actions related to research, training, awareness-raising, communication, and knowledge transfer on the right to the city and food sovereignty. These aim to strengthen the capacities of key actors in the city and internationally (social organisations, families and schools, academia, legal professionals, farmers, etc.) so they can contribute to real change. Additionally, actions aimed at supporting citizen mobilisation and improving political advocacy seek to achieve change through public policy or legislative actions, both in the city and in countries of the Global South and multilateral spaces such as the United Nations.
